Malawi Resort Cottages

HOSPITALITY

The proposed project entails the development of a luxury resort in Malawi, on a 24 acres plot, located 30 Km on the outskirts of the city center. The resort aims to provide an immersive and rejuvenating experience for guests seeking tranquility amidst the natural beauty of Malawi.

Nestled in the stunning landscapes of Malawi, this resort is a celebration of both heritage and innovation, designed to blend seamlessly with the natural environment while offering all the comforts of contemporary living. The architecture pays homage to local traditions, using time-honored materials and techniques, while introducing modern elements that elevate the experience into the realm of refined luxury.

The cottages are thoughtfully positioned to take advantage of Malawi’s lush scenery, each with a thatched roof reminiscent of traditional Malawian homes. The earthy textures of locally-sourced stone and timber evoke a sense of warmth and authenticity, while expansive glass windows invite the outdoors in, filling the interiors with natural light and offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. Inside, minimalist modern finishes contrast with artisanal craftsmanship—hand-carved furniture, woven textiles, and intricate details that tell a story of place and culture.

We’ve embraced a design approach that acknowledges the beauty of simplicity while respecting the context of the site. Outdoor terraces extend the living space, inviting guests to lounge under the open sky or gather around a fire pit in the cool of the evening. At night, the cottages glow with understated lighting, creating an atmosphere that’s both intimate and inviting—a true sanctuary for travelers.

The result is a collection of spaces that feels rooted in tradition yet undeniably modern, a place where guests can experience the best of both worlds—immersed in the authenticity of Malawian culture while enjoying the luxuries of contemporary resort living. This project is a testament to the belief that architecture should not only be visually engaging but also meaningful, creating spaces that honor their surroundings while enhancing the experience of those who inhabit them.
